One of the founding principles of Alpha Omicron Pi is to be of service to others - to bring into the world around us a spirit of love, not for self glory, but as an opportunity to give something back to our community.
International Philanthropy
Alpha Omicron Pi’s International Philanthropy supports Arthritis, Juvenile Arthritis, and other related diseases. Since 1967, when we adopted the Arthritis Foundation as our international philanthropy, over one million dollars has been raised by AOII to aid the research for a cure for this crippling disease that often targets women as its victims. The AOII Foundation grants funds annually to support Arthritis Research for the purpose of finding the cause and a cure. In addition, the Foundation supports the American Juvenile Arthritis Organization with grants for family arthritis education and children's arthritis camps.

To raise money for the Arthritis Foundation, our chapter hosts several events throughout the year including: Strike Out Arthritis, AOII Athletes, and the Mr. AOII pageant. Additionally, Gamma Sigma participates in The Arthritis Walk and has sisters who volunteer at the local Arthritis Foundation Chapter.
